Organized by SMC Associates
Poet, performer, and educator Denice Frohman, a Puerto Rican lesbian, will present a performance of spoken word and poetry celebrating National Coming Out Day. The presentation will include an audience Q&A. Frohman’s work — which explores the complexities of language, lineage, queerness, and the colonial relationship between the U.S. and Puerto Rico — also explores the tension between the stories we tell about ourselves, the ones told about us, and the ones we tell about each other. Part of the Social Justice Series. Sponsored by the SMC Associates.
This event is part of the ongoing SMC Associates free talks about aspects and developments in social justice today. Call 310-434-4003 for more information. Seating is strictly on a first-arrival basis.
Location: SMC Main Campus Student Services Center Orientation Hall
