The Education and Public Engagement team invites visitors to explore Stories of Cinema, the Academy Museum’s ongoing core exhibition that presents diverse, international, and complex stories of moviemakers and the works they create.
Join museum educators on Friday afternoons to explore spotlights on moviemakers and movie objects.
In December, our Drop-In Tours will focus on Accessibility in Film. Museum educators will spotlight Academy Award-winners Harold Russell, Marlee Matlin, and Troy Kotsur in the museum’s Academy Awards History gallery and the complex depictions associated with accessibility and disabilities. Conversations with educators may also highlight the innovation of R2-D2 and its original engine in Inventing Worlds and Characters: Encounters, as well as answer questions around authentic storytelling of characters with disabilities.
All are welcome to join this public drop-in style gallery conversation, free with admission, from 1pm to 3pm. Meet educators in the exhibition, on Level 2, in the Wanda Gallery, or Level 3, in the Rolex Gallery.
If you have any questions, or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
