ABOUT THE FILM:

In Italian with English subtitles. 

When famous director Salvatore learns that his childhood mentor and smalltown projectionist Alfredo (Philippe Noiret) has died, he recalls his past at the Cinema Paradiso, from watching films upstairs in the projection booth to learning the trade himself and eventually leaving home for the big city. Back in the present, Salvatore returns to Sicily for Alfredo’s funeral, revisiting people and memories seemingly lost to simpler times.
