About this Event:

This 8-hour, in-person workshop is designed for young people interested in video storytelling. You'll learn about filmmaking—from idea development, to production and editing—while gaining hands-on experience with cameras and audio equipment, and learning simple tools for digital video editing. If you are age 18+, you'll also receive priority for a PAID, 160-hour training program, coming Spring 2022, which further builds knowledge and skills in storytelling and video editing with a goal to secure placements in paid internships, apprenticeships, and/or jobs.

RELATED PROGRAMS: Creative Conversations with creative industry professionals, every Friday, 4-6pm through April 2022 (ages 16-24). Participants receive priority for other programs. Contact ceci@venicearts.org for info.

ELIGIBILITY: All of LA County's low-income young people, ages 16-24. Those who are current or former foster youth, justice-involved, unhoused, not in school and not working, and/or LGBTQ receive priority.

This program is a collaboration with LA County’s workforce division (WDACS).

Friday, April 15, 2022 from 9am-5pm in the Antelope Valley in partnership with Advancing Community Together
